SULLYING THE GRAVE OF A SLAIN CHILD February 18, 2004 Good evening my fellow DC residents. I'm Ron in DC. I am a former teacher and union attorney. represent parents against DCPS.
The mother said that the child was dead for thinking like a child. DC residents were horrified at what happened to that 14 year old girl. But not Tony Williams. According to Mr. Fisher, Tony Williams spread off-the-record scurrilous rumors about the slain child's family. According to Mr. Fisher, the Williams Administration reacted as if the lost child were filth, as Tony Williams scurried about to sully that child's name. In his article Mr. Fisher reported that Tony Williams continued his despicable rumor-mongering in an off-the-record gathering of local business leaders. Where was DCPS when Tony Williams was spreading his slander? Did any DCPS official speak out for the slain child? Did they speak out against what Tony Williams was doing to the memory of that child lost forever to her family? Where was DCPS when the child was turning to the streets, absent from school, possibly unable to keep up? Where was the DCPS highly paid cadre of Vance Administration refugees and retirees from Montgomery County? Where was the leader of special ed reform? Why was the child not in school? Why was the child not getting help from DCPS? Did anybody care, until Marc Fisher told the story? Where were DCPS officials when the child was finally laid to rest? I was there, were they? Where were the highly paid DCPS bonus signers when the family needed help paying for the funeral? I helped, did they? We know where some former high level Vance Administration officials were, don't we Mr. Lockridge? They were in the Evans Junior High Community wreaking havoc. And that's just one example of what they have done to our city. Paraphrasing Senator John Edwards, DC is now two cities. one for the developers, the well-connected, the Williams’ friends, the other for those I care about. One educational system for the fortunate, the other for those I care about. One health care system for those who can afford private hospital care, a closed DC General for those I care about. I have often told you that it is time for the Vance Administration and its holdovers to go. I now tell you that to save our city, its time for Tony Williams to go. Join with those of us and sign our petitions. RECALL TONY WILLIAMS, as we now say, |
